Is there a difference between the terms variety and cultivar?
When speaking about olives and olive trees, there is no difference between the terms variety and cultivar. The terms are synonymous.
In Spain, it has been observed that Spaniards most commonly use the term variedad (in Spanish) or variety (in English).
