Tunisia is a top ten producer of olive oil in the world. Its two most common cultivars / varieties are:
A third cultivar, Koroneiki, which is indigenous to Greece, is becoming more popular in Tunisia because of the quantity of trees that can be planted per hectare, and a tree’s time from when planted to market. (This Tunisian olive orchard planted 400 Koroneiki trees on four hectares)
